Being right by Omnivore Books has introduced me to amazing food writers. On Friday night I went to a tasting, talk and book signing by Susie Norris and Susan Heeger, authors Hand Crafted Candy Bars. (I don't know about you, but they had me at candy bars.)
They passed out samples of their treats along with the original candy bar that inspired their recipe. For instance, Tootsie Rolls would be passed out, and then we'd get to try their version, which was additive free, with higher quality ingredients, and made from scratch. I rarely buy cook books (usually borrow from the library), but this one I had to get. I'm excited to start making candy bars!
